Hey Falcons! Please see below from Mr. Bond's email for the week of Monday (12/10) through Sunday (12/16)...
Congratulations again to everyone who earned spots in the region band, region orchestra, and area band! We are excited to see the first two region concerts this week with region orchestra on Saturday, December 8 at Mayde Creek (beginning at 5:15 pm) and the region jazz band on Monday at Waltrip High School (beginning at 6:00 pm). I hope to see lots of friendly Tompkins faces at both of these concerts!
If you are driving to Mayde Creek High School tonight or tomorrow, please be careful with road conditions near the campus. That area floods easily and with the heavy rains today and tomorrow, this is something everyone needs to be aware of. I would suggest taking Greenhouse to Ashley Rd or Barker Cypress to Groeschke (East-West) to avoid any potential flooding. Avoid taking Greenhouse or Barker Cypress and to Saums then going north on Groeschke, as this is where a lot of the worst flooding happens.
I also hope to see a lot of people out at Jingle Jam tomorrow morning and afternoon! This is a great way to start the holiday season and you won’t want to miss it! We are also watching the weather very closely for this event and will make adjustments to the itinerary as needed, which will be sent out through Remind. If you are not on the band Remind, please join by texting @tompband to 81010. Students who play school owned marching instruments MUST be ready to turn their instrument in on Monday morning so we can send everything in for annual maintenance.
Finally, the holiday concert is this Thursday, December 13 at 7:00 pm in the PAC. Dress for students is Sunday best(button down shirt, tie, slacks and dress shoes for gentlemen and dress, skirt or slacks and dress shirt and dress shoes for ladies – No denim or tennis shoes).
Monday – Region Jazz Band Concert at Waltrip High School at 6:00 pm
Tuesday – See Charms
Wednesday – See Charms
Thursday – Holiday Concert in the OTHS PAC at 7:00 pm

Saturday – See Charms
Students need to meet at Jenks Elementary by 8:30 am on Saturday, December 8 for Jingle Jam. Students are also responsible for transporting their own equipment to Jenks that morning. We will have space in the school to store all personal belongings. After the Cinco NW portion of the parade is complete, we will board buses and head to Davidson Elementary for lunch and the second half of the parade. After the Pine Mill portion of the parade, we will bus back to Jenks where everyone will be dismissed.
Students will need to wear a red or green shirt and jeans. The only writing on the shirt should be holiday related. Otherwise the shirt should be blank. Students will also be allowed to “decorate” their instruments with lights (only). Please be smart about this and don’t do anything that is going to damage your instrument.
Auditions for wind and percussion students for the spring semester will take place on Monday, December 10 during classes. All students will be asked to play a portion of the freshman cuts from two of the all-state etudes.
