Please see below for important information from Mr. Bond's email regarding All-State Band and the Spring Mulch fundraiser...
A HUGE congratulations to Shumirai Mutandiro for earning a spot in the TMEA All State Band on Contra Bass Clarinet! He will join other high school all state musicians in February at the annual TMEA clinic and conference in San Antonio to rehearse, perform, and be recognized as one of the top high school musicians in Texas! We are very proud of Shumirai along with all of our other area students who auditioned at Clements this past Saturday!
Mulch sales start today! This is a very important event for the band and should be easy to make successful. I try to keep any student led fundraising to a minimum, so when we do things like this, it's important that everyone helps out. Sales will take place starting today all the way through February 5 with delivery on February 9. Attached to this email is a flyer (that includes a coverage calculator) that can be printed or kept on your device for reference when selling. The big things to remember on this are that bags are $5 each, we will deliver to anyone within the OTHS attendance zone on February 9, and all proceeds go to the OTHS Band. We all have to re-mulch our yards every year, so even if every band member purchased mulch for their own home, this would be a successful fundraiser. Add a few neighbors to that and this ends up being huge for our band program. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Have a great week!
