Band News (week of 3/4-3/10)

Hey Falcons! Please see below from Mr. Bond's email for the week of Monday (3/4) through Sunday (3/10)...

Thank you again to everyone who helped to make the TCGC show this past weekend a huge success! We could not have done that without our awesome team!

The guards will perform this Saturday at Katy High School. JV will perform at 3:37 pm, A Guard will perform at 8:53 pm and Open Guard will perform at 9:53 pm. Admission is $10 and we hope to see a lot of people there!

Symphony Orchestra UIL

Symphony Orchestra will perform at the UIL Region 23 Concert and Sight Reading Contest on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the OTHS PAC. We will talk through details with the students on Monday during the after school rehearsal. All parents and friends are invited to attend!

Tuesday Schedule

Since we are hosting the UIL Orchestra Contest on Tuesday, we will not have access to the band hall during the day. Students will be able to get to their lockers before school but won’t be able to get to them until right before the Hawaii rehearsal, which begins at 5 pm that afternoon.

Any student going on the Hawaii trip plus one parent must attend the meeting in the PAC on Tuesday at 6:30. Please remember to bring any medications that you will need to take with you on the trip.

Solo and Ensemble

Solo and ensemble will take place tomorrow at MRHS. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your performance time to warm-up and find your room. Remember, dress for this performance is “semi-formal” and students should plan accordingly. Please do not wear denim or any other casual clothing. Good luck to everyone at your performance!

Fall Calendar

The fall calendar is up in Charms but there still may be some edits and adjustments over the next couple of days. The football schedule will be published once we get the go ahead from the district. Please be sure to check the calendar when planning doctor/dentist/ortho appointments or anything else that may conflict with rehearsals and performances. I have also included all of the SAT and ACT dates and indicated which ones are clear to test on.

Have a great weekend!
