Band New Week of 11/1/2019

We are really excited for the opportunity to have one final performance of Danza Espanola at the Alamodome this morning! The band performs at 10 am and if you can’t make it, you can watch us live on (subscription required).

After the contest, we will go to the football game vs. CRHS and begin celebrating a great marching season. At halftime, we will honor the wonderful contribution of all of our senior band members. We will recognize each senior individually at halftime then senior parents will have an opportunity to come down to the field after the game for pictures.

The second chance to celebrate will take place at our fall formal dance on Saturday, November 9 from 8-11 pm in the main commons. Tickets are $10 if ordered by November 6 and can be ordered by following this link:

If you do not purchase your ticket in advance, you can do so at the door for $15. Students must be current band members to attend unless they are accompanying a band member as a date. Non band member dates must present ID at the door on arrival.

This dance was an absolute blast last year and I hope everyone is able to attend!

Playoff Games

We will know our playoff schedule after all of the regular season games have been played at the end of next week. Once we know that schedule, I will send out information ASAP.

Full Band Picture

We will take our annual full band picture right after school on Tuesday. Students need to bring all uniform parts with them to school that day (black shoes, black socks, etc.). It should only take us about 30 minutes or so to finish.

Junior High Region Band Auditions

Junior High All Region Band auditions will take place at Mayde Creek Junior High on November 8 and 9 and student volunteers are needed to run this event. If you are in need of volunteer hours, please consider signing up at the link below. This information is going out to the other high schools as well, however, since we are the only ones without a football game that week, it would be good for us to help out as much as we can. The Saturday audition is in the morning and will not conflict with the fall formal. Here’s the link:

Jordan High School

We know that there are some members of the band who will be attending Jordan High School next year. While we will be very sad to see you leave us, I did want to reassure you that there will be a band program there next year, including a marching band and color guard. I know there have been some questions regarding this since the ABM was approved this week, and the Katy ISD administration asked me to help get the word out that those opportunities will exist for students at the new school.

Have a great week!
