Band News Week of 11/10/19
Congratulations again to everyone on another great competitive marching season for the Tompkins Band! Also, thank you so much to our amazing volunteers who made it possible for the kids to be successful. We are very appreciative of everything you do and could not do what we do without your dedication to our students and the band!
I will still post some schedule highlights in emails moving forward, but since we are separated out into smaller ensembles now, your best source for the complete schedule is Charms.

Playoff Game vs. Travis
Our first playoff game will take place on Thursday, November 14 vs. Travis High School at Mercer Stadium. Please remember that all games are mandatory for all students.
Dress for this football game will be full uniform. Wind and percussion students need to wear their spirit shirt, performance shorts, black socks, Viper marching shoes and gloves (winds). Guard members need to wear the guard spirit shirt and black dance pants, letter jacket or guard jacket. Students must also have their flip folder, lyre, all music, instrument in working condition, guard equipment, garment bag, and their OTHS Band water bottle. If it is cold, students may wear a base layer or long underwear underneath their uniform.
3:15 pm – Rehearsal in the stadium

5:00 pm – Depart for Mercer Stadium
6:00 pm – Arrive at Mercer Stadium (we are the away team)

Region Band Entry
All wind and percussion students who are interested in auditioning for the TMEA Region Band must complete the entry form by clicking on the following link:
You must also bring the $20 entry fee to Mr. Bond in either cash or check form (made out to OTHSBBO). All entries are due by Wednesday, November 20. This audition is not required but highly encouraged for anyone who has prepared the all state etudes.
Bundt Cake Delivery
If you purchased bundt cakes a couple of weeks ago, they will be ready for pick up on Thursday, November 14 from 2-5 pm in the fine arts hallway outside of the band hall. They can also be picked up immediately after we return from the football game that evening. It is important that they all get picked up that day as they are only good out of the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
Remember, if you are shopping on Amazon for the holidays, go to www.smile.amazon.com, enter the Tompkins Band as your non-profit of choice, and go from there. We will receive a percentage of all purchases made through this website with no additional cost to you! Amazon Prime and other special programs are still in effect with this. You must use www.smile.amazon.com every time after this in order for us to get any benefit. If you go to amazon.com or use the app, it doesn’t work.
Have a great week!
